Copywriter
Our story began in 2011 when a group of office workers at a major logistics company in Chicago had a lunch problem. Nearby options were limited, and the team was spending too much time and money traveling to their favorite restaurants. They had an idea: bring Chicago’s local restaurant culture inside the office to sell food. It was an immediate hit. When they discovered people from other companies sneaking into their office, they knew they were on to something.
Fooda pioneered the concept of rotating popup restaurants inside offices. Today, we operate in 45 cities with over 100 million meals served and continue to grow rapidly.
Powered by technology and a network of 1500+ restaurants, we feed hungry people at work through a platform of unique food programs located within companies, office buildings, hospitals, schools, distribution centers, and more. At Fooda, we believe a workplace food program should be something employees love and look forward to every day.
Who We Are Looking For:
We’re looking for a copywriter who loves to tell stories and understands the reasons and business strategy behind the “why”. Someone who knows that in today’s AI-saturated world, your job as a writer isn’t being replaced, but the bar for what you create is much higher. This role reports directly to our Vice President of Marketing.
This role is about the craft of writing. It’s for someone who thrives on hitting deadlines, filling in a heavy content calendar, and shaping how Fooda is seen by prospective clients, existing customers, restaurant partners, and yes – even large language models (but please, without the em dash).
What You Will Be Doing:
SEO Writing
o Write B2B blog posts designed to drive search traffic, inform LLMs, and establish Fooda as a thought leader.
o Own execution on a content calendar aligned with business priorities and keyword strategy.
· Storytelling & Authenticity
o Create in-depth case studies for a diverse range of clients that show Fooda’s impact in action.
o Develop long-form white papers and guides that are not just informative but engaging and highly relevant to decision-makers.
o Carry forward Fooda’s authentic, restaurant-driven voice across every piece of content.
· Multi-Channel Writing
o Write and test email campaigns that drive measurable engagement.
o Draft scripts for videos, adapting messaging for visual mediums.
o Contribute to social and community-driven platforms, including LinkedIn and Reddit, tailoring voice and tone to each channel.
What You Should Already Have:
· Ability to write longform content (over 2,000 words) and ability to provide Fooda with samples.
· 3–5 years of professional writing experience in marketing, B2B, or SaaS environments.
· Proven success with SEO-driven content that scales organic traffic.
· Ability to adapt tone and style across mediums: blogs, white papers, email, video, Reddit, LinkedIn.
· Strong storyteller with a focus on authenticity and emotional resonance.
· Analytical mindset: comfortable with data, driven by results.
· Excited to join a company scaling toward a billion-dollar future, and motivated by the privilege of telling the story of food, not software.
Why This Role Matters:
Being a content writer in today’s world is not easy. We respect you. You have a home at Fooda. We aren’t looking for content that fills space. We’re looking for stories that move people. AI may augment what you do, but it cannot replace a writer who can connect the emotional power of food with the practical needs of business. This is more than a job. It’s a chance to craft stories that celebrate local restaurants, engage Fortune 500 clients, and help Fooda achieve its billion-dollar vision. Writing about food is a privilege, and we’re looking for someone who gets that.
What We’ll Hook You Up With:
- Competitive base salary, bonus plan, and stock options, based on experience
- Comprehensive health, dental and vision plans
- 401k retirement plan with company match
- Paid maternity and parental leave benefits
- Flexible spending accounts
- Company-issued laptop
- Daily subsidized lunch program (ours!)
The salary range for this role is $65,000-$85,000. The salary is dependent on a number of factors including but not limited to: work experience, training, location and skills.
